Tapatía de nacimiento y criada en la vida campirana Jalisciense, Elizabeth creció amando la naturaleza y la vida agitada de la ciudad por igual.
Su naturaleza introvertida la llevó a enamorarse de los libros y perderse en el armónico silencio que se respira en medio de las montañas. Desde la edad de ocho años, comenzó a escribir cuentos donde plasmaba las fantasías que alimentaban su vívida imaginación. Poco tardó en darse cuenta que poseía la habilidad de apreciar los pequeños detalles que para otros pasan desapercibidos, como los granos de sal perdidos entre los granos de arena o el espectro de colores reflejados por la luz cuando ésta toca el agua.
Soto-Lara encontró en la escritura y el arte en general un escape de la realidad para apaciguar la revolución emocional que revoloteaba en su interior. Escribir se convirtió en una necesidad para poner en orden los multiples pensamientos que transitan por su mente y amenazaban con volverla loca.
Su trayectoria comenzó en 2013 con una Licenciatura en Comunicación y Producción Televisiva por la Universidad del Valle de México con una especializad en Escritura Creativa por la Santa Fe University of Art and Design (SFUAD) acompañada de un certificado en guionismo impartido por Guillermo Arriaga (Amores Perros, 21 Gramos, Babel).
En 2016 Elizabeth decide llevar su pasión al siguiente nivel y estudiar una Maestría en Cine en la prestigiosa Academia de Cine de Nueva York (NYFA) en el campus de Los Angeles, California.
Luego de conseguir una beca atribuida por la New York Film Academy, Soto-Lara se aventuró en el mundo del séptimo arte. Después de graduarse de NYFA, Elizabeth continúo ganando experiencia en la industria audiovisual como guionista y como Asistente de Dirección y ahora la respalda una década en la que ha sido parte de más de 70 proyectos audiovisuales desde largometrajes, cortometrajes, series televisivas y spots publicitarios para TV dentro de Los Angeles, México, Costa Rica, Chile, España, India y Arabia Saudita.

Elizabeth Soto-Lara was born in the vibrant metropolis of Guadalajara, Mexico - a city that pulsates with the energy of a bustling town. Raised in the idyllic countryside of Jalisco, she developed a deep affection for nature, and an unquenchable thirst for the excitement of city living. Her introverted nature, however, drew her to the serenity of the mountains, and the quiet refuge of books, which she has loved since childhood.
Elizabeth soon realized that her perspective on the world was different from those around her. She possessed an uncanny ability to perceive the extraordinary in ordinary things - to observe, for example, the grains of salt nestled within the grains of sand on the shore of the ocean. This unique perspective led her to isolate herself, seeking refuge in the pages of books.
Writing provided Elizabeth with a means of escape from reality and a way to organize the myriad thoughts and emotions that swirled within her. As the years passed, writing became a need, and she has never stopped since.
Elizabeth's journey as a writer began in 2013 when she earned her Bachelor's degree in Communications and TV Production from the prestigious Universidad del Valle de Mexico, with a minor in Creative Writing from the Santa Fe University of Art and Design. She also received a Screenwriting Certificate from Guillermo Arriaga, the renowned writer of Amores Perros, 21 Grams, and Babel. Recently, she decided to follow her passion and pursue a Master's degree in Arts from the renowned New York Film Academy (NYFA) in Los Angeles in 2016.
Elizabeth's hard work and dedication paid off when she received a scholarship to NYFA, and she embarked on a journey through the world of filmmaking across the US, Mexico, Costa Rica, Chile, Spain, and India. Over the years, she has gained valuable experience as a screenwriter and first assistant director, and her talents have taken her to various film industries around the world.
Today, Elizabeth boasts an impressive ten years of experience in diverse film industries worldwide. Her unique perspective and boundless imagination continue to drive her, making her an invaluable asset to any creative team.
